whats your opinion about the text? what evidence do you have to support it ?
I think that in this chapter the characters have reached their braking point between sanity and insanity, with  ralph and piggy soon get to realize that they murdered simon and where mistaken for killing him in chapter 9, through this jack becomes powerful to the tribe and ralphs reign slowly collaspes and the only thing holding on to that is piggys glasses which is gold to them for fire. but soon as jack seeks for more power invades there camp stealing the glasses and beats up william for the account of disowning him. For this this cleary shows these sophisticated young school boys have gone wild through power and nightmares.

"The chief was sitting there, naked to the waist, his face blocked out in white and red. The tribe lay in a semicircle before him." 119
jack at his power

"Far off along the bowstave of the beach, three figures trotted toward the castle rock. The chief led them, trotting steadily, exulting in his achievement. He was a chief now in truth; and he made stabbing motions with his spear. From his left hand dangled Piggy’s broken glasses"
jack has finally full power and is now chief since he has the most prize possession which is piggys glasses
